Lotus seeds, or Phool Makana as they’re known in India, are the dried seed of the beloved lotus flower. Low in calorie and loaded with fiber, they contain powerful antioxidants which fight both inflammation and cellular aging, ultimately making them perfect for a satisfying (and incredibly easy!) snack.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 cups lotus seeds (aka foxnuts, phool makhana)
- 1 tbs ghee
- 2 tsp Elemental Alchemy’s Six Taste Spice Blend
INSTRUCTIONS
- Melt ghee in a wide-bottomed pot
- Add the lotus seeds and roast on low heat for ~10 minutes or until crisp and crunchy. (uncooked they taste stale/soft.)
- Turn off the heat and stir in the spice mix. Toss until the seeds are fully coated.
- Enjoy warm, or once cooled, store in an air-tight container for a great snack on the go.
