
INGREDIENTS
- 8 oz green peas (fresh or thawed from frozen)
 - 4 Japanese yams
 - 1 small red onion, finely chopped
 - 1 tablespoon shredded ginger
 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
 - 5 curry leaves, diced
 - 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
 - 3 teaspoons Elemental Alchemy’s Six Taste Spice Blend
 - 2 tablespoons cassava flour + 4 tablespoons for dusting
 - 3 tablespoons coconut oil
 - 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
 
INSTRUCTIONS
- Peel yams then boil until soft, about 4 minutes.
 - Heat 1 tablespoon coconut oil in a medium pan. Add onion, garlic, ginger and curry leaves and sautée until browned. Remove from stove.
 - In a mixing bowl, mash the yams, green peas and cilantro. Stir in onion-garlic mixture, cassava flour, Six Taste Spice Blend powder and shredded coconut.
 - With an ice cream scooper (for ease and consistency), form one scoop and with your hands, shape into a patty.
 - Dust both sides with cassava flour and place on a clean, dry surface.
 - Once all the patties are formed, heat the remaining coconut oil in a large skillet and fry patties over medium heat.
 - Serve as is or with a cilantro chutney like this one.
